Leftovers

We all probably have our fridges full of leftovers still, just two days after Thanksgiving.  Maybe we appreciate the ease of warming up a meal without having to cook.  Or maybe we take such leftovers for granted.  I wonder, even if we were intentionally thankful as we sat down to the Thanksgiving Day meal, are we as thankful for a cold turkey sandwich?  As thankful for a PB and J wolfed down as we rush off to something any old day of the year?

How do we deal with other leftovers in our lives?  Is attending worship and other activities at church something we do only if we have enough time left over from work, from recreation, from chores, and from all of the other stuff we seek to find time for in our over-busy schedules?  What if, instead, we thought of church as the 'main meal' and allotted only the time left over after that for any of our other activities?

What about people?  Is there anybody in our circle of family, friends, neighbors, acquaintances, or even strangers, who we might tend to overlook, as if they were unappreciated leftovers?  How might we adjust our minds, our hearts, our spirits, to see them in a different light; see them in the light of Christ?
